Press Release: IOI City Mall Celebrated Muhammad Al-Fateh Home Children for Iftar
Putrajaya- In celebration of Syawal, we seize every opportunity to be extra charitable, especially to those in need and more so to the children. This annual tradition has been arranged as a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and mall’s effort to reach out to the less privileged as well as in giving back to the community.
IOI City Mall continues to enliven the spirit and reap the barakah of Ramadan this year by organising a special iftar or buka puasa (breaking of fast) by inviting 26 children from Muhammad Al-Fateh Home. The children, ranging in age from 7-18 years, were also accompanied by their 5 guardians during the dinner.
The event started off with a complimentary “Despicable Me 3” movie session fully sponsored by Golden Screen Cinema (GSC) along with a prayer break after the movie.
The kids were then treated with a shopping spree at LOL whereby they were given a chance to shop for new clothes to adorn on Hari Raya which aimed to make these kids feel special and spread a little cheer among them.
For Musaffar Shah, 12, the excitement had been building for days. “They told about it last week and I’ve looking forward to it since then,” he said.
Additionally, the children also received duit raya and a bag of goodies from the mall as well as from generous contributor, Toyota. After a group photograph session, the kids with their guardians were then treated to a sumptuous spread by Texas Chicken Malaysia for buka puasa.
The staff and management of IOI City Mall also spent time bonding with the children as they sat and dined with the children during dinner.
The visit gives IOI City Mall employees the opportunity to reach out to the less fortunate and to instill in them a need to participate in such social responsibility activities.
