More Food Hankering
and I want to eat these...
a lot of these awesome pickled fruits. I actually asked Zaini when we can go back to his hometown in Marang, Terengganu because I wanted to go to Pasar Payang and hoard these.
That or head over to Penang. Sad to say though, Penang Bridge International Marathon is still a no go for me. Uhuk!
Plus, I want to eat this too, despite the heat
love durians!
ReplyDeleteme too!
Deletewhy suddenly craving for those pickles?? pregnant?? hahaha~~
ReplyDeleteI've lots of food cravings lately, in case you didn't notice. ;p
DeleteAnd no. Definitely not pregnant.
the yellow one is mango, what is the one on the right??
ReplyDeleteit's kelubi.
DeleteScientific name = eleiodoxa conferta
English name = have absolutely no idea.
BTW, Rurousha, if you are reading this - think of umeboshi. Sour, salty & sweet ones.
Raimie and Zaini loves both of them (kelubi & umeboshi). ^^
Thank you for anticipating my question! :D Wikipedia says it's "commonly called kelumi or asam paya", so it looks as if we've just hijacked your word!
DeleteI never knew there were so many different kinds of fruit in the world!
To further make you feel intrigued, there's another fruit that we love that might be a tad unusual. Nice to eat as is or pickled too. It's called buah salak or snake fruit. ;p
DeleteWhy is it called snake ...
DeleteWait a bit. OK, goddit. Its skin looks like a snake's! :D The fruit itself looks a bit like a lychee.
Taste?
are they only available in Terengganu and Penang?? you can't find these from that snack shop in MV where you just go in for free samples?? :D
ReplyDeleteMV or other shopping malls of course sell them. But seriously, more fun to buy them at the market in which they are famous for.
DeletePlus, with the cutthroat prices of these jeruk here, might as well make a trip, have a vacation and hoard those jeruk back home.
hahaha, Penang Bridge Marathon.. hmmm, maybe not until he grants you the permit to run two races in a month?? :p
ReplyDeleteNo permit for outstation or overseas races yet. hahaha
Deleteyucks!! durians!! and you eat durians and petai!! both are things i hate.. so stinky, don't ever come near to me~~ :D
ReplyDeleteNow I know how to make you "suffer" LOL
DeleteJust eat those stinky fruits! Bwahaha
how come so quiet today?? maybe school holidays ended and parents also get back to work?? haha~~
ReplyDeleteYalor, today is back to school day.
Deletecan eat durians lah, but finish up the savoring with some mangosteen they will help to cool down..
ReplyDeletei remember some also drink salt water from the shell of the durian, also known to cool down the heat..
ReplyDeleteWah! You seem to have same food liking with me!
ReplyDeleteHi-five! :)
DeleteWe can organize a durian party at Thambee's house for the Gala Award Night ok. We all come in the best pajamas and walk on newspapers lined on the floor! LOL
ReplyDeleteNow that's what I call a great idea!
DeleteGive me a date and I'm in! LOL
I love durians but dare not eat too much. I worry about getting too fat. So I normally order just 1 big one but must be really good! I usually paid over RM30 each! Yum! Yum!
ReplyDeleteI usually like my durians free. Got it from my Dad. High quality durian kampung.
DeleteOnce in a while I splurge on more expensive ones lah, and like you, just buy 1 big one and indulge. ^^
Saya sangat berliur looking at jeruk mangga. What's the one on the right? I'm heading to Penang! Why u no go Penang? :(
ReplyDeletex dpt permit! Muahah!!!!
Deletealalalalala
DeleteDurians are quite big, huh? Like a watermelon? (That's a normal watermelon, not a tiny mega-expensive Japanese one.)
ReplyDeletePS: Durian makes you fat?! o_0
Think of all the carbs you are stuffing yourself with, eating those durians!
DeleteCarbs? A durian is a starchy fruit, like a banana?
DeleteNo chocolate hankering?!
ReplyDeleteThe three of us just finished a whole bottle of chocolates in one day, yesterday.
DeleteShould I blog about it? hehe
YES! :D

You really pandai look for a bargain! ;p
DeleteBut they say durian nowadays very poisonous...
ReplyDeleteThey put lots of pesticide.....coz all durian now is so fragrant n sweet..
Even the kampung ones? That would be scary. @.@
DeleteMy mife cannot eat those good grades durian coz of pesticides....
ReplyDeleteIf eat the throat will b ask it until keluar white spot....
I had the same affect too sometimes. So it was due to pesticide? Alamak! I kena poison! @.@
DeleteLast when eat durian almost 4/10 durians got ulat.. Now 100% no ulat..
ReplyDeleteThat's true.
DeleteSo the ones with ulat better. Because if the ulat can eat them, human should have no problem eating it too, right?
