The Year So Far
Only three weeks left till we get to the new year of 2013.
Running wise, it's been a fun year so far. I have only one race left to do for 2012 and that's the Newton Challenge on Dec 30th. One more and we're done for the year. ^^
12 months and 15 races so far. I've been rather good and picked and chose my races for the first half of the year as a part of my Half-Marathon training for SCKLM in June so I entered only 5 races from Jan - May. Such discipline and restraint. Hahaha
- Jan saw me doing 12km at Multi-Purpose Insurance Run.
- I did the One Vision Run 10km in Feb
- A night run that wasn't a happy ending for me at Energizer Night Run, doing a 15.5km in Apr
- A 10km Bomba Run in May and then a free 8km Standard Chartered Fun Run too
- June saw me doing my first half-marathon at Standard Chartered KL Marathon
Then, after that I kinda went crazy...
- July saw me doing the 11.8km Men's Health & Shape Night Run which I didn't even signed up for and I had super fun joining a 3km relay team event with Nick, Neoh and CK at Pacemakers' Anniversary Run
- I went on a race spree in September and somehow signed up for three races that month! I started the month with a 16.8km Adidas King of the Road, a half-marathon at Taiping International Marathon and I finished off with a 10km Salomon X-Trail run.
- October got me coming back to Putrajaya Night Marathon and I did a half-marathon too instead of the 10K that I did last year.
Up to this point, I have been joining races for a full year. One year from entering my first road race ever to this.
- We went to Setia Alam in November for me to do another half-marathon there at CICM Responsible Care Run and we also traveled to Penang for me to run in the Penang Bridge International Marathon (another half-marathon for me) using a donated bib. I guess race fatigue caught up with me as I've been having slower and slower timing for my half marathons. That, and the fact I haven't been properly following any training plans to prepare for my subsequent half-marathons after SCKLM. My bad...
- The 1st day of December and I met a few lady runners when I joined the supposedly 7.8km turned into a 5km run at Engineers' for MAKNA Run at UNITEN.
After the Newton Challenge on Dec 30th, I have the Multi-Purpose Insurans Run on Jan 6th. Nothing yet for Feb. Brooks Half-marathon in March and Borneo International Marathon in May. I need to pick and choose my races in 2013 so it'll match my training plan and so that I don't get burned out.
Can't wait for 2013! :)
Goodness! You have so many medals! You can melt them all and make 2 dozens of forks and spoons! Wakakakaka
ReplyDeleteBukan sell as scrap metal ke? hihihi
DeleteI think when you reach 50 years you can masuk Guiness Book of Records.
ReplyDeleteCompared to others, this is such a puny collection la...
DeleteCollecting medals is more valuable than collect stamps! These medals are all your sweat, calories and hotel stays invested. So much memories lah!
ReplyDeleteAll you mentioned are true! ;)
DeleteWhy some medals still kept inside plastic? Takut karat?
ReplyDeleteThose that came in plastic, I keep like that la... less "contamination". hahaha
Delete2 weeks more to dooms day... haha
ReplyDeletethen might as well fill it to the fullest. ;p
DeleteI can never match this hehe...race sebulan sekali pun I tak mampu kot. So well done, Lina! And you ran good in all races, too. Same here, pick & choose for 2013. Tapi training insyaAllah cuba teruskan. :D
ReplyDeleteSebulan sekali so that the legs won't get too itchy wanting to race. Hahaha
DeleteI bet you can do it... Though of course, logistics hat anak2 yg jd mencabar sket. :-)
And yes, training tetap diteruskan. Jgn lupa also to have fun and not take this running thingy too seriously. :-) kan? ^_^
Wahhh nice collection medals to sum up this glorious year for you kan Kak Lina... Super awesome... So many medals... Nice2 one too... Hope U'll do even better for your Marathon Year 2013... Hopefully U'll do 2nd FM for SCKLM nanti... Hehee... I haven't summarize mine just yet hehee... Congratz Kak Lina!
ReplyDeleteThe year belum habis lg, you can summarise after Newton. I je yg tak sabar :-D
DeleteNope, not gonna do a FM at SCKLM. Just a HM. Want to improve my timing there. 2014 kot. ^_~
Yayyy anything u register soon, HM is super awesome n fun too right... Good for our endurance and stamina too, right... The finisher tee tuh yg very the tempting... Cannot tahan woo... Provided enuff training mentally n physically too hehee...
DeleteCant wait to recap mine too soon... Harap2 ada mood blogging b4 2012 berakhir... Such a sweet memories for this running year... He2...
Boleh buat recap after Newton. ^^
DeleteI can't be doing a FM every month in 2013. Pick and choose and I choose to enjoy a continental breakfast at the hotel by doing a HM at SCKLM (finish earlier hahaha) than running 42K there. kakaka
Great recap babe, nice overview of what has been achieved in 2012. Talk about being a RACE WHORE....
ReplyDeleteIni belum lagi tahap whore ni.
DeleteOrang lain ada tiap2 minggu race tau...
wow ada yang masih dara (medal)....masih diselaputi plastik lol
ReplyDeleteSelaput masih suci murni you..... Hahaha
Deletewah, that is a very handsome collection of medals lah.. feel a lot better than all those rempit around when you were young right??
ReplyDeleteRempit time I also got medal. Hah hah hah
DeleteNot only you tau. xD
good!! keep it up, I think all these medals make you more motivated and keen to get more medals!! we are hardly satisfied right??
ReplyDeleteMedals are nice to get and all but the satisfaction for me comes more from the experience. ^^
DeleteAnd feeling that I've done better. ;)
don't listen to that Anay he got CB mouth only.. no one would ever ditch away all the medals they earn with sweat and sore legs and blisters!! if you want to melt them then I don't mind you give them all to me, haha!!
ReplyDeleteAiyoh, dunno la. Maybe one day I got too many, I melt them lah, like Anay say! Hahaha!!!!!!
Deletehaiyoh I have not been receiving any medals since high school.. that's terrible!! maybe I shall also join all these runs huh?? hehe.. just like those ppl playing cheat~~
ReplyDeleteYou can cheat but will you be OK receiving and keeping it? And for what? ;)
Deletewhy is that run on 30/12?? should have it on the night of 31/12 so that you will be running from 2012 till 2013, now that's more exciting right??
ReplyDeleteIt was held on 1st Jan this year already. Maybe they don't want to do it further into the month of January?
DeleteAcrually there is a run called Ambang 2013 being held in Shah Alam. Short distance only. You wanna join? Can burn calories, celebrate new year and get a medal. :)
2013? Meh. I'm looking forward to 2014! Wonder why.
ReplyDeleteCongrats with all the medals, jungle woman! Keep going, all the way to Nara! ^^
Yeah, what's so special about 2014 again? ;p
DeleteWow..15 in a year! Gi mana tidak capek gitu..hehe..Respect is only word to sum it up! Terbaek kak!
ReplyDeleteAla... macam laju pun. Race enjoy enjoy saja. ;)
DeleteGood idea on picking races that suit your training plans. Quality over quantity, I say. I'm doing the same thing but it's going to be hard trying to resist not signing up for too many races ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteSame here, Nick! It's gonna be tough to stay away from joining a race for too long! Hahaha
DeleteHmm... now who do I always blame for my race addiction again? Yeah... YOU! LOL
wah so many medals? Need a cabinet to display all lor
ReplyDeleteNo need lah. My mooncake box still can keep all my 19 medals. kekeke
DeleteIt's the evidence of all your hardwork leh. I think all 3 of you combined will need to have one room empty to display all the medals already lah
ReplyDeleteMedals easy... just gantung on wall. Hahaha
DeleteYan OTOH must renovate her house to add one more room to keep her daughter's trophies. ;)
If you watched Wreck It Ralph, you should know how much Ralph envy you for the amount of medals you have got.
ReplyDeleteMust watch lah... someday... when Astro shows it for free. heh heh
