Our Trip To Merapoh For TMMT 2019
Our trip to Merapoh to join The Magnificent Merapoh Trail happened to be just a couple of days after my dad's birthday.
So on our journey to Merapoh, we stopped by my hometown in Raub before continuing our journey.
Lunch in Raub, at the Gerai MDR Simpang Kallang. Warning - this is very, very pedas.
I wanted to treat my dad to a fancy lunch but he just wanted a simple one so we ended up going to the gerai.
Oh, the stall owner got her petai stock from my dad.
For TMMT 2019, I booked a room at Welcome Inn GM in Gua Musang. The hotel is located about 25km from the race village in Merapoh.
The area is quite quiet, but there's a supermarket on the same block as the hotel and a few restaurants.
Our spacious room.
Good wi-fi reception, a few Astro channels, comfy bed... Quite nice lah.
Got mineral water and coffee for us.
The bathroom.
Shower pressure is a bit weak and same goes for the hot water.
En-route to the hotel, we made sure we stop to buy some jeruk!
Our dinner was at a restaurant along the same row as our hotel.
They had tomyam set and asam pedas set (RM9.90) which were pretty decent. The tomyam was better than the asam pedas though.

It was just a short stay in Gua Musang and we didn't travel around much because we had spent more time in the trail. Maybe we'll return for a more leisurely stay, just like what we did in 2016.
That time we visited some caves, went to see railway tracks, had picnics...

Wah, so long ago already.
Nice to hear that you all ate a good meal with your father at a place of his choosing. Not at a fancy place but it is the best because you honour his selection.
