Great Makan At May & Zin Krabi

We found a great makan place literally mere steps away from our hotel. The food served were so good, we kept returning to have our dinner there for the whole duration of our stay in Krabi.

The place is May & Zin Restaurant located at Holiday Inn Beach Walk, just beside Holiday Inn on the Noppharat Thara Beach.

The restaurant does have an extensive menu offering and despite having all of our dinners there; we're far from being able to try everything they have to offer (and we did try!).

It does also seems quite popular with Malaysian and Chinese (from China) tourists alike. 

For our first visit and try, we decided not to order anything fancy.

Hubby had the Pad Thai which had a very generous amount of squid and shrimp.

And I had the shrimp fried rice. Yup there were plenty of shrimps, they were just hidden under the rice.

The rambutans were complimentary.

Total: 200 baht.

After confirming that the food at May & Zin were indeed good and the staff were friendly too, we decided to splurge on subsequent visits.

For our second visit, we ordered shellfish cooked with basil.

Seafood in red curry.

And kale cooked in oyster sauce. The portion should be able to feed 5 people and feel kenyang!

Really generous portion and although the red curry was a tad salty on its own, it was perfect with rice.

Total: 490 baht.

 We decided to order steamed siakap in lime sauce for our third meal there.

And kale in oyster sauce again.

Total: 490 baht.

 The next day, we decided to try their crabs and ordered this crab dish cooked in curry.

 And steamed shrimp in lime.

For our vege dish, we ordered asparagus with shrimp. I have to say, we had difficulty finding the asparagus as there were heaps of shrimps in the dish! LOL

Our complimentary fruits this time were rambutans and bananas.

Total: 460 baht.

 For our last visit, we ordered lala in chili sauce.

 And squid cooked in yellow curry.

Total: 310 baht.

Happy face because of great food.

Sad face because we'll definitely miss May & Zin Restaurant after we return from our vacation!

The food selection is affordable.

Delicious and very fresh.

Great presentation that made you feel that you are enjoying an al-fresco meal at a hotel instead of an outdoor stall.

Friendly staff and fast service.

A plus - during dinner, you can also listen to live band from the next door Holiday Inn.

Very nice, right?

So if you're in Krabi, Thailand and especially if you come visit Ao Nang Beach, do make a point to try out May & Zin Restaurant.
