The Corroboree Last Week
First, the word "corroboree" comes from the Australian word to explain different genres of performance which in the northwest of Australia include balga, wangga, lirrga, junba, Bardi Ilma and many more. It is an appropriated English word that has been reappropriated to explain a practice that is different from ceremony and more widely inclusive than theatre or opera. source : Wikipedia
For Raimie, he went to a Bangsar/Pudu Zone Boy Scout Corroboree last week. A 3days 2 nights camping trip.
He came back with a tan. Earned a few more badges. Plus becoming more "manja" after his return. He told me he misses his Mommy. Aww....
Though he is a bit unhappy that we went to Hilton KL and met Lisa Surihani when he was away! LOL
When the Son is away, the parents went out and play! HAHAHA
No photos of the manja ... what's that anyway?
ReplyDeleteNo photos of the manja boy and his tan? :(
Manja in this context = becoming very attached.
DeleteNope.
Done on purpose. :-P
It must be an interesting camp for Raimie.
ReplyDeleteSure was.
Deleteaiyoh what an alien word "corroboree" to me!! luckily Mak Glam placed the explanation in the first paragraph.. and yet Uncle SK need to read twice to slightly understand.. so what really is Raimie's "korobori" about?? :D
ReplyDeleteA gathering that includes singing, merry-making and talent show. :-D
Deletehow nice of that idea to collect the stamps!! meaning he earned one stamp after every accomplished mission?? wow, that is indeed a great achievement, a pageful of 18 stamps, a pageful of 18 achievements in a short 3 days!! bravo~~
ReplyDeleteHe's earned few more boy scout badges from this trip. :-)
Deletehehe, sweet boy, reached home and straight away told mommy that he missed her!! manja manja and bodek bodek, so that you will bring him to KL Hilton again?? :p

DeleteI would understand why your son missed you so much! You always stuck to him like a glue. Muahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteCannot ke? I dont care! LOL
DeleteMany times i did compare you both with my parents on child upbringing. I actually like much of your ways as I am not very close with my father. Maybe it is because you only one very precious handsome son to dot on. I was probably a spare tyre at home.
ReplyDeleteI was born the wrong gender, gor a firstborn. So go figure :|
DeleteI always thought that Australia has the most funny and weird names too. Have you heard of Wollongong, Geelong, Kurrajong, Mullumbimby, Mittagong, Molong, Grong Grong, Goondiwindi … Cabramatta, Parramatta, Wangaratta, Coolangatta??
ReplyDeleteI remember this song from childhood :
Delete"cookabarra sits on the old gum tree" :-)
I am glad that your son enjoyed his camping. He should go more often so that mama and papa could play outside!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen/if he enters the Royal Military College, mom & dad can play all we want! ;-)
DeleteWalau eh!!!! He will look so gorgeous and macho in the military uniform soon! Mak Glam will be busy screening the beeline of gals.
DeleteAnd Hitam. LOL
DeleteSure cannot be K-Pop star after that. Hahaha
The badges looked cool!
ReplyDeleteNo badges yet. Those are stamps to get badges. ;-)
