My First Run Clinic
First!
After training alone for a year and entering road races, this morning's Multi Purpose Insurans My First Run Clinic was the first running clinic we (that's me, Zaini and Raimie) attended! High time, I say.
The clinic is free and open to anybody who shows up at Bukit Aman car park and starts at 7.30am on Saturday, with the first session being this week. There'll be more session in the upcoming Saturdays! The running clinic is held for the upcoming Multi Purpose Insurance Bhd Run on Jan 2013.
The best part for us attending the clinic - not only do we get tips from speakers, we got free running vests too! Who doesn't like free suff, ah? ^^
Despite getting only 4 hours sleep (Zaini less as he was still awake when I went to sleep at around 2am), we were up early and arrived Bukit Aman Carpark to join the queue to register and getting our running vests.
For the session, we can choose between running with a 4K group or 6K group. I decided to run with Zaini and Raimie; but for this first session - the 4K distance was cut to 3K instead. First session mah! We'll do 4K next week.
Geared towards those still new to running, it adopted a run-walk approach. Run to 5 lamp posts and walk three. Raimie ran/walked for the first 2K but got rather grumpy after that. Boy got tired not to mention annoyed by Mommy's constant chatter "motivating" him to run. Hahaha
After the running session, we listened to the speakers talking about basic fitness while helping ourselves to bananas and drinks available.
Mr Wan and Jamie giving talks and we all listened attentively to what they were saying! Really! Promise! xD
It was a fun, relaxing morning. Raimie who complained about getting tired while he was running earlier, later told us that it was FUN. See. Mommy knows best. I told him that even if he is tired, he'll finish the run feeling good and wanting to do more but he didn't believe me at first.
I hope we can make time to join the session next week (as motivation for daddy and son to run) but we'll see how it goes. Furthermore, Raimie has a school activity next Saturday too.
We'll should have more fun tomorrow as I'll be running in the Salomon X-Trail run in UPM tomorrow.
The Salomon X-Trail is another first for me. My first trail run! *wipe sweat* Let's hope I won't do too badly. No plan, no timing, no whatever for this particular run. I'll just "hantam saja" and have fun tomorrow, inhaling the smell of cow dung! wakakaka
GOOD AFTERNOON WORLD!! :)
ReplyDeleteeih, i finished reading only comment one wokay?? i never played cheat before one.. yet after reading, still 1st sip~~ :D
DeleteEverybody busy whatsapping! LOL
Deleteat first i thought why it's called a run clinic, so it's actually a fun that comes with talk and maybe some consulting sessions with the experts??
ReplyDeleteso happy lah, one happy family participating in the same event.. hehehe!! i think Zaini slowly will get addicted to running and that's a good news to you right??
Deletebut you are running alone tomorrow?? Zaini not joining you?? or he's going to McD to enjoy his breakfast and daddy's time with Raimie??
DeleteSK leng chai,
Deleteclin·ic/ˈklinik/

I wonder if Zaini's running is good news... because well, if the two of us run - who wants to take my photos ah? *selfish mode* kakaka
Tomorrow 10K saja. Short while only. (eksyen nya. muahaha) So I think we'll go, I run, then maybe go to Bangi's Pasar Tani to buy Nasi Ambeng for breakfast. Eat breakfast at McD on weekends is expensive la! xD
hope you just go to the run clinic, and not going to the clinic after the run, hahaha~~ :D

DeleteIt is beautiful and fun for a whole family to participate in any activities together! Good bonding! Your son will grow closer and closer with you both parents!
ReplyDeleteI hope so TM.
DeleteWe do make effort to spend time with each other. Family is precious.
I have been toying the idea whether I should start running again? Perhaps I need to see a tabib to treat all my joint problems in order to run again. Dunno whether that SP and SK would take part. They are lazy bums!
ReplyDeleteYou run with SP sure after running go out makan and add more calorie than what was burnt! wakaka
DeleteI thought itu SK very rajin exercise one? 4-5 times a week go to gym lah! Don't play play! xD
But ... a clinic is where you REST and RECOVER and DO NOTHING! :D
ReplyDeleteI thought that's the hospital? or a stay in a nice hotel? no?
DeleteGawd... What I would do to check-in some posh hotel now...
Nah, in a clinic you just ogle the sexy young doctors. Or nurses. Depending on your persuasion. :p
DeleteI've never been lucky enough to see sexy young doctors :(
DeleteThere are plenty of them in Japan? :-D I must go & check them out, someday. :P
lina, so good to see, you, Zaini and Raimie ran togheter. Very healthy family common interest.
ReplyDeleteThey all just getting first dip. But I'm happy that they are joining me. :)
Deleteby the way, this Saturday (13th OCT) KL run on evening, will u be there ke? lol
ReplyDeleteNope. I don't really care to run with 15,000 college students at 5.30PM! Crazy ah I want to run at that time. If it's not super hot, it'll be raining lah, judging from the weather we're having now.
