A Bit More Of Taiping
We went for a bit of sight-seeing around Taiping town on Saturday, the day before Taiping International Marathon. We enjoyed some nice food there too.
Sunday, Sep 16th on the Malaysia Day holiday - I spent the morning part running 21.56km around Taiping Town and also spent a few hours at the field, supporting full marathoners finishing their race and got totally "berbelang"" after that. You should see my tan line! @.@
An hour after our return from the field, I met two generous Taiping bloggers and they took me out for lunch. The two ladies fed me so well and I was so full, I took a three-hour nap when I returned to our hotel room! @.@
There goes the plan to hike up Bukit Larut that evening. So, we just went and enjoyed an outing to Taiping Night Safari instead. I got a few 50% off discount vouchers in my Taiping International Marathon goodie bag so might as well use it. ;p

It was super fun trying to locate each of the nocturnal animals in their respective pens. Much nicer than Zoo Negara!
The next day, Zaini and I decided to hike up Bukit Larut. Not through the road or riding the 4WD but we opted to use the trail.

It was a steep hike up Bukit Larut and we got back totally drenched in sweat despite the cool hill temperature but it was worth it! Plus, am happy to say no muscle soreness experienced after all that running and hiking! xD
Pretty soon it was time to leave Taiping and face the South bound traffic to KL and anyhwere else the drivers from North were heading to. Traffic jam! @.@
GOOD MORNING WORLD!!! :D
ReplyDeletewah, long time never get 1st sip here.. even after more than 8 hours you have published the post!! i think all thought this is the same post as your yesterday's post because of the 90% similar title~~ :p

DeleteOoooo...that looks like kulat ta'un!!! Sedap!!!! Tastes like chicken! Near extinct here already...
ReplyDeleteThen can come over Taiping and pick those near extinct mushrooms la STP. ^^
DeleteYou can leave STP in the jungle with a wok for 3 days and he can survive easily! He eats every grass and snakes! LOL
Deleteno need wok la. STP can eat commando style in the jungle, right?
DeleteWah!!! Handsome lah your son...sure the ants will come crawling very soon. LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteOf course Raimie is handsome, he got Zaini and minah rempit's best genes!
Deleteshe no more Minah Rempit lah, she is Mak Rempit now.. the Mother of all Rempits!! :D
DeleteYes, Raimie is so handsome, as he has his parents' good look.
DeleteSTP,
DeleteSudah ada banyak little ants crawling at him now. @.@
O.o~~ TM's white mushroom!!
ReplyDeleteyah, hehehehe!! i saw that and expect Lina to write some description for that mushroom photo dedicated to TM, but she didn't!!
DeleteBut, TM's ahem mushroom is fairer than Taiping Bukit Larut mushroom.
DeleteNo need to mention lah... I know you all think of Tan Sri when look at that mushroom photo, right?
DeleteYou think why I took that photo ah?
Thank you for thinking of me!!! I never knew that the sight of any mushrooms will link to me for a lifetime!!! Kakakakakakaka.....
DeleteMak Yan is correct about the mushroom at my farm. Very geli and eerie one! Blergh!!!!
Deleteyou and ur mushrooms ate very special in our heart. Wakaka
DeleteElephant photo? I know la, it's easier to spot elephants at night, whereas all the animals go hiding already.
ReplyDeleteElephants are harder to hide, kakakaka!
Can spot lots of animal that time we went. And if you take the tram, the driver will also tell you where to look. :)
DeleteHow "high" you hike Bukit Larut?
ReplyDeleteI dare not use the shortcut - am not a hiker nor nature lover. I'm scared I would get lost in the jungle T__T
Heard stories about missing hikers and they returned 24 hours later.
oh returned 24 hours?? then they are lost and not missing lah.. most importantly, do not go hiking alone, must go with a gang and let your family know you are going hiking..
DeleteYvonne,
DeleteWe didn't go up all the way lah.. Scared not enough time to go return to hotel before check-out time. I think it was up to 750m mark.
SK,
Sometime, you follow the marked trail also - something can make you lose your way one. That's why must be respectful of the environment. Don't simply talk cock when out in the wilderness and don't pee anywhere. Jaga kelakuan. xD
Lina you gila to hike up on the day of checking out. I will be exhausted to climb like you. I will go to Bukit Tak Larat.
DeleteNot me crazy lah... Zaini crazier. He's the done who drove and endured the jam back to kl that day.
Deletewah, that lion (or harimau??) looks so grand lah.. is it the symbol of taiping?? where did you take this photo?? outside an indian kuil??
ReplyDeleteIt's on the pillar of a row of shops. Ask Yvonne & Yan to tell you where it is. ;p
Deleteso yesterday was the "metropolitan" of Taiping and today is the natural side of Taiping.. nice arrangement lah.. i like!!
ReplyDeleteHehehe nice right? Menepati tema. Kakaka
Deleteeih, i heard Taiping Zoo is a good one, so much better than our so-called National Zoo.. my last time there was more than 20 years ago lah, and i don't remember seeing a lot of animals.. hahaha..
ReplyDeleteYou ah...
DeleteMuseum also many moons never visit right? ;p
"The two ladies fed me so well and I was so full, I took a three-hour nap when I returned to our hotel room!".. wakakakakaka!! like that sure gained 3kg of weight as a souvenir for your Taiping trip lah??
ReplyDeleteI have yet to stand on the scale and weight myself this month! LOL
Deleteoh, is that truck on Bukit Larut still functioning?? or it's just a display?? and more than often we associate cars with sexy lady right?? hahaha, look at that photo, we have a pretty makcik with an antique car~~ padan lah!! :D
ReplyDeleteItu jeep will take you up to Bukit Larut. Just pay a little bit and they'll rempit you up.
DeleteGood for those who doesn't want to walk up. :)
aiyah, those are Anay TM's mushroom!! they migrated to Bukit Larut already?? you didn't dedicate that photo to Anay, how bad lah~~ :D
ReplyDeleteNo la, this wasn't Anay's mushroom. Anay TM's mushroom has thinner head with fairer skin (may be it is the effect of Biotherm. This bukit larut one has bigger head but darker skin.
DeleteBig head better right? More taste! Wakaka
DeleteHey I feel geli lah thinking of that house and its mushrooms! That house always had "Visitors"...
DeleteYou sembahyang betul-beryl for ur new house or not? Later new house also receive visitors. O.O
DeleteI never been to Night Safari, shame on me.
ReplyDeleteNot cheap woh... If I had to pay full price, I may not go also. I kedekut. xD
DeleteBut after 50% discount, only paid RM21 for three of us.
Yeah shame on you Yan!!! Bring your kids there lah. I went to the Night Safari in Singapore and I really enjoyed it very much because all the wild animals were so active at night only.
DeleteI like to go hiking too. But the last time I went for many years ago. I should go again one of these day.
ReplyDeleteHave fun when you do! :)
DeleteSince SP is coming in October, I should bring SP to go hiking, but later he will swear not to come to Taiping again. He will have there aching and here aching after hiking.
ReplyDeleteSP... Hiking good for you. To exercise those thigh muscle. Later easy to be kuda. Yeehaaa!!!!
DeleteMUSHROOOOOMMMMMSSS
ReplyDeleteFriend kept asking me to visit the zoo but not enough time la
ReplyDeleteLater go, visit lah. Anak kucing sure enjoy one! We enjoyed it a LOT!
DeleteOh! Didn't know there's a night safari in Taiping! LOL! The only night safari I've been to is Singapore's.
ReplyDeleteZoo Negara also has night session now. :)
DeleteI would love to hike up Bukit Larut! Seems like a nice place. The cooling weather is definitely a plus factor!
ReplyDeletecool-nye! can circle 1 whole round of taiping, means u pro already right? can I hire you for tour guide? XD
