A Bit More Of Taiping

We went for a bit of sight-seeing around Taiping town on Saturday, the day before Taiping International Marathon. We enjoyed some nice food there too.
Sunday, Sep 16th on the Malaysia Day holiday - I spent the morning part running 21.56km around Taiping Town and also spent a few hours at the field, supporting full marathoners finishing their race and got totally "berbelang"" after that. You should see my tan line! @.@
p.s. distance marker above are in miles not KMs. ^^ Covered 13miles around Taiping
An hour after our return from the field, I met two generous Taiping bloggers and they took me out for lunch. The two ladies fed me so well and I was so full, I took a three-hour nap when I returned to our hotel room! @.@

There goes the plan to hike up Bukit Larut that evening. So, we just went and enjoyed an outing to Taiping Night Safari instead. I got a few 50% off discount vouchers in my Taiping International Marathon goodie bag so might as well use it. ;p
It was super fun trying to locate each of the nocturnal animals in their respective pens. Much nicer than Zoo Negara!

The next day, Zaini and I decided to hike up Bukit Larut. Not through the road or riding the 4WD but we opted to use the trail.
It was a steep hike up Bukit Larut and we got back totally drenched in sweat despite the cool hill temperature but it was worth it! Plus, am happy to say no muscle soreness experienced after all that running and hiking! xD

Pretty soon it was time to leave Taiping and face the South bound traffic to KL and anyhwere else the drivers from North were heading to. Traffic jam! @.@

  6. How "high" you hike Bukit Larut?

I dare not use the shortcut - am not a hiker nor nature lover. I'm scared I would get lost in the jungle T__T

Heard stories about missing hikers and they returned 24 hours later.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. oh returned 24 hours?? then they are lost and not missing lah.. most importantly, do not go hiking alone, must go with a gang and let your family know you are going hiking..

    2. Yvonne,
We didn't go up all the way lah.. Scared not enough time to go return to hotel before check-out time. I think it was up to 750m mark.

      SK,
Sometime, you follow the marked trail also - something can make you lose your way one. That's why must be respectful of the environment. Don't simply talk cock when out in the wilderness and don't pee anywhere. Jaga kelakuan. xD

    3. Lina you gila to hike up on the day of checking out. I will be exhausted to climb like you. I will go to Bukit Tak Larat.

    4. Not me crazy lah... Zaini crazier. He's the done who drove and endured the jam back to kl that day.
