Lawak Kampus 10th Anniversary Exhibition

Raimie wanted to go to Balai Seni Visual Negara. He wanted to meet his favourite cartoonist, Keith who is the one behind Lawak Kampus/Kuso (which is lawak in Japanese incidentally) High School fame.
The mini exhibition was held from May 18th - June 2nd, 2013. On June 1st, there's a special event. A Lawak Kampus comic workshop and Raimie really wanted to attend it. He didn't explicitly said so, but we are his parents and we know him. ^^

So, after collecting Mommy's bib no at UKM for her run on Sunday, we went to Balai Seni Visual in Titiwangsa.

The workshop was from 2.00pm - 2.30pm. Just 30minutes. But we were there until 4.00pm because of course son wanted to get Keith's autographed.

Everyone waited patiently although the line was slow moving but who would complain as Keith painstakingly draw a character for each of his fan.
So much respect to him.

The session was supposed to finish at 3.45pm but judging by the line behind Raimie, he probably was there till 6.00pm!

A few parents just can't wait and pushily made their kids cut in front. Some even had the gall of "discussing" with the crew. One parent was annoyed that her son refused to cut line and keep on pointing at her watch. Then, she kept on bugging the crew to let her son go ahead. The boy then just ignored his mom and refused to look at her and continued to wait patiently. The mother saw it fit to stand right in front of everbody with hands on hip, showing her annoyed face. Wow

One uncle even asked the crew "Got to queue one ah?" Wow. You know, kids do learn good things at school. Sometimes it's their parents who made whatever good they learn there become undone.

Two hours of waiting and son finally managed to get in front and get his autograph.  Daddy also seemed stoked being able to get up close to Keith. Heeee

The long wait was made bearable as the crew held quizzes with some coupons as the prizes. Raimie didn't win any but that's because he only raised his hands a few times but he sure looked pretty entertained with the quiz. ^^

He is super charged-up now and had spent the days drawing cartoons with the techniques he saw on Saturday. :-)

  4. the kids behaved well too, waited patiently for their turn to get the autograph.. i bet Keith must have taught the kids about manners especially queuing up in his comics.. that unreasonable auntie who kept pestering his boy to cut queue must read the comics and be ashamed of herself!!!

    1. Most of the kids were really well behaved. Interestingly the ones that pushed and cut queues were the ones with adults (parents/uncles/aunties) with them. :-S
