This Week's Crafts Time

 Son loves arts and crafts.

They might not be "art-class" high standard as he mostly learnt making stuff by watching Art Attack on TV or on the Youtube. He also can be quite high-minded about doing it ALL by himself. We can give ideas and comments about what he's doing BUT in no certain terms are we (that's me and hubby) allowed to touch or help him.
A papier mache hedgehog pencil holder. Cannot see the head though. Hahaha

Uncle SK... Son does love to play with colours. ^^

    2. very true, you feel proud and contented with what you have done.. and feel even more happy if the person whom you give that to loves it and appreciates it!! now that's when giving is more blessed than receiving, the chinese saying~~ :)

  4. definitely i was all alone with my art gears, and not even anyone to give comments or suggestions either, it's all for my own hands from my very own imagination.. but lucky to say, most of the times, the result looked pretty nice!! :D

  5. papier mache hedgehog pencil holder.. errr, what a sophisticated name lah, haha!! i won't bother to name my crafts actually, but it's good for Raimie to name it to show that he is really appreciating what he was doing.. good, no need to go far away for holidays, this boy is certainly easily contented.. :)

  8. That's nice. Reminds me of the time I made a pencil holder using the cylindrical tubes when all the toilet paper's used up. Put on my table in school and soon everybody was making their own - everyone trying to outdo the other...and some came up with photo frames some more. Tak nak kalah! LOL!!!

  9. Handsome Raimie comes up with his own pencil holder? Must put trademark or copyright , or else those craft bloggers come and steal the idea, then claim it's theirs :p

    1. Well, me too!

Art Attack was on since we were in school right? With Neil Buchanan as the host. I still can remember his name! LOL

But I also didn't do much.

For one, last time it was hard to get the artsy stuff in my hometown. Ask from mother, sure kena scold.

    1. funny how you said it's a canngih name.

The technique is papier mache. He made the shape using newspaper that is turned into pulp.

Hedgehog is well... hedgehog la. Put pencil then it become the thorns. :P

He didn't do it specifically for anyone. He has lots of stuff that he does every weekn anyway.

  14. Independence is a fine characteristic! :D Go for it, Raimie!

PS: I was going to suggest a chocolate holder, but then I realized it would defeat the purpose: it would always be empty ...

    1. I wish he can independently do his homework or clean his room without getting nagged though. :-D
