Croutons Cafe By Gourmet Seduction - Finding A Hidden Gem In Seri Kembangan

Croutons Cafe is located just a few hundred metres away from Mines Shopping Centre and a short walking distance from KTM Serdang Sation. But because the cafe's location that is rather hidden, away from the normal pedestrian route from the KTM station to Mines and away from the main road, we never realised its existence despite it being opened for nearly 3 years if not for a chance conversation with a neighbour who had visited the cafe.

It's always been rather inconvenient for us to find a great cafe that's nearby to our home and we've always needed to drive out a bit just to enjoy a decent cup of coffee and pasta. No, Mines Shopping Centre doesn't have a decent pasta place, in my opinion and Pizza Hut totally doesn't count.
After a full day of activities - with collection of Son's report card at school, going to three(!) different venues for race kit collections not to mention a fun run, Hubby had this nice surprise for me - by going to Croutons Cafe for our dinner.
First impression was immediately a good one.
Croutons Cafe is sure nice and cosy. A small cafe with a warm atmosphere and little nooks to enjoy a good cuppa or a good company.
Coffee was good and that's tops for me.
For dinner, we ordered cappuccino (RM11) and Pesto Linguini (RM19) + added Salmon Flakes (RM4) for me, Hubby had Latte (RM11) and Viking Salad (RM23.90) and Son had Ice Lemon Tea (RM8) and Pink Linguini (RM24).

Portion were generous and I've had to ask Hubby to finish mine. Hubby gave me one of his smoked salmon and it was goooood. Maybe I should order Viking next time.

It is a small cafe, away from the hubbubs but don't underestimate it. The chef learn his trade at Le Cordon Blue and the team had served and catered to not only international stars but also to royalty! There's a photo of the team with the current Yang di-Pertuan Agong displayed in the cafe!

If  you're looking for an affordable cafe with great food, and food that compares highly with big names or starred restaurants - this is definitely a great choice.

We truly enjoyed our dinner there and I would definitely return for another visit. It also helps that Standard Chartered Bank credit card holders enjoy 10% discount off their meal of a minimum RM50.00.

Note:
My Maxis line doesn't work well in this cafe with almost non-existent line but might as well lah. No need to be too preoccupied with updating status & food photos immediately to IG & FB. Hahahah

  3. Hi Lina... I wonder if Mines shopping mall is still good as it was. My last visit there was in 1999. Anyway, nice food you had there.
