Don't You Care About Their Safety?

It always shock me when I see parents allowing their children do what  must be fun for the kids but can actually be dangerous not only to them but to others too.

When I was little, I was always reminded to keep my hands and my head in the car (or whatever vehicle we are on) because if I didn't I was reminded that I might lose a limb or two. I was unhappy about it because it was fun to stick my head or hand out of the car and I can never see the danger of doing it but I never defy my parents. And of course now, I fully realise the danger.  What if a vehicle takes over the car and accidentally bump into your sticking hand? A child can accidentally fall over/out too!

Would you really allow your child to stick out his/her head like this? That girl stucked her head further out but I didn't manage to take her photo doing it. And her brother, was doing the same thing on the opposite window. Foolhardy!

Zaini didn't even dare to take over this car at this rather narrow stretch of road. We just trailed behind it until it went on a different route from us. Even the car behind us was trailing behind without any attempt of taking over. I guess we were all worried about the girl!

Parents, please be responsible about your child's safety.

  1. I've seen this so many times and have commented to wifey how stupid some parents can be! Sometimes I wonder what goes through their minds?

  2. @Nick,
To me, these type of parents that never discipline their kids. Just let them run havoc and cause incovenience to others. :(

It may be fun and games to the kids, until someone lose a head. @>@

  3. Omg, I hope they got to where they're going with nothing bad happening to that little girl.

  4. Sticking the head out the sunroof is another scary sight. Yet another is small child standing on the seat on his own (regardless of front or back seat). I can imagine what will happen should the parent/driver apply emergency brake.

  5. i'm often surprised with parents that thought so little of their children's, as if their life wasn't worth protecting! seriously?

  6. You know Lina, most often than not, we take safety for granted, we would say this,"short while only what, no problem lah" "come on, no cars coming and this is kampung road, so not many cars" and more.

I have seen worse than this, seriously in such instances, only accidents can bring them back to their senses,,,,,,,,,,sad, ain't it?

    I fervently hope so too!

  8. @HappySurfer,
Exactly. If the driver braked, the child would have suffered impact or thrown off the vehicle. @.@

  9. @levian,
They take safety too lightly. :(

  10. @eugene,
Yes, even I sometimes take safety for granted.

It is when something bad happen that we regret. So much better if we are cautious and not regret later.

  11. OMG, how can the parents let the kids stuck their heads out of the window?? that's extremely dangerous!!

  12. and there's actually some parents who let their kid sit with them on the lap while they are driving!! this is ridiculous.. first it might distract the driver, secondly a sudden stop will sure plunge the kids out of the wind shield!!

  13. i have no idea why those parents never have the sense of child safety at all.. common sense right, but it seems like they do not understand those at all, and never thought of the consequences!!

  14. @SK,
Yeah, why are a lot of parents so irresponsible!

Oh, don't get me started over those on motorbikes with two or more kids on the bike too! The road is not a circus ring! @.@

  15. I've seen many times of something like this! It's different here in Malaysia in comparison to other country. They don't care about things until something bad already happen. It's in the mindset I think..

  16. @wenn,
indeed! Don't know what some parents think when they allow their kids to do it! @.@

  17. @Bella,
It is the mindset. You wouldn't see this in some other countries. But hey, kat sini, a child's car seat is not deemed important by some parents too. Let the kids move/jump around the car, without so much the protection of a seat bealt. :(

  18. This is wht I call ignorant and nuisance!=_= Cold sweat for the kids!

  19. @Alice,
Indeed. I'm worried for the kids because of the parents' ignorance. :(

  20. When travelling in moving vehicles, my parents used to warn us against sticking any part of our body out the vehicles. I tell that to my son too.

  21. Ever so often, we see some parents adopting an indifference to their kids doing dangerous stuff. I always say a word of prayers for the kids.

  22. @ECL,
My parents never fail to remind me and my siblings too. Some parents just don't think it is a big issue though. :(

  23. Oh yes!! My mom used to tell me if I stick my hand out of the window, I will lose it!

  24. So I never ever stick out my hand or head no matter what!

  25. In the olden days drivers used to take out their hands to signal. Thank god we don't need to do this anymore! I wouldn't dare stick out my hand to signal! Haha!

  26. I think the parents of those kids in the car are so irresponsible! No need car, if a fast motorbike were to zoom past, there goes the child's hand or head!

  27. @foong,
Me too! And I never do it! Even now that I'm such an old fogey! I'm scared my hands would fall off. xD

  28. @foong,
LOL about hand signalling. Yeah, saw that a lot of time when I was small at my Kampung. ;p

Exactly! And you know lah motorbikes can be notorious in zig-zagging near cars. If got bumped, how? The child get hurt and the motorcyclist might get seriously injured too, if he falls off his bike. Scary thoughts. :(
