Makan-Makan In Taiping

Makan post! Nothing too special lah... we are not that adventurous trying new food and quite lazy to wait long for food at those popular outlets.
Best among the best of Taiping food : Yvonne's scones. Yummy!
Had popiah bought at the nearby market for snacks. RM0.60 per pc. Spicy! o.O
For dinner on Saturday, we initally wanted to eat at Doli for its famous char koay teow but the shop was full and even the takeaway wait was long! o.O
So we decided to head to this Pusat Penjaja (Hawker centre) instead for our dinner.
Sotong kangkung? Rojak sotong? Yong tau foo? Or something hot?
Sotong kunyit (squid cooked with tumeric) for Raimie.
Drinks/desserts for us. ABC!
Char koay teow for Mommy and Daddy.
Plenty of runners were having dinner and carbo-loading there too!
Sunday's dinner. Prawn mee for Mommy and Daddy and chicken curry rice for Raimie. He had diarrhea after eating that! o.O

  7. Taiping is my birth place, my hometown. My family and I always go to restaurants that operate by local people. Weird thing is, I always visit the restaurant chains whenever I go to KL.

  8. My family and I like to go to restaurants that didn't charge us for service tax and govt tax. Thank goodness there are still many restaurants have no service tax and govt tax available in Taiping.

    1. that is good..
but maybe they had factor in the bill..
I think they have to achieve a certain amount before they could charge those tax...
In Ipoh also a lot.. but we need to pay it in cash.. (like the Mun Cheong Seafood restaurant)

      Delete
    2. Only outlets that earn a certain $$$ in their sale charge govt tax. Some more cannot simply charge. Got lesen and sticker to show one!

  9. Taiping Hawker Center is my favourite place. I had breakfast and dinner there almost every weekend when I was young. The stalls are closed during lunch.

Now I still have breakfast there on weekend, but not for dinner anymore. Reason, my hubb doesn't like crowded place and limited car park.
