Twincity Marathon 2019 - Kids Dash
Twincity Marathon was back for its 5th year last weekend and for the 5th year, there was a new category - the Kids Dash category.
Kids Dash category was open to 6 - 12 year olds and was held the day before the main event, on Saturday, January 19 2019.
About 100 kids registered for this inaugural event category and it certainly look encouraging. Kudos to the parents and kids who came and joined the run last Saturday.

Parents were allowed to run along the course but was asked by the emcee to start behind the kids and they sportingly obliged, as you can see from the photo.
Flag-off and off they went, all out.
Kids will be kids after all and they sure have boundless energy.
The top 3 runners in both Girls and Boys category finished in below 4 minutes.
Parents and family members lined up along the route to take precious photos of their kids running.
For their effort, finishers of Kids Dash received this lovely medal - just like those who ran 5K, 12K, 21K and full marathon the next day!
Something to be proud and cherish of, don't you think? The Kids Dash medal have special lanyard different from the lanyards for Sunday's run.
The runners also got bananas and vege packed drink (didn't seem to be a hit though. Hahaha) after they finished their run.
The top 5 runners in Boys and Girls category received a hamper each.
What's special about the winners was - seven of them came from SK Lemoi (JHEOA), Cameron Highlands.
The seven runners, together with their dedicated teachers were invited to join the run by the organiser, Ten Senses Sdn Bhd and CRCC and they certainly made their family and school proud with their strong performances!
Good job too, to the other runners who came and ran in the Twincity Marathon 2019 Kids Dash, especially those who made it to podium placing.
The seven students of SK Lemoi also ran in the 5K category the next day.
Some background on SK Lemoi, taken from SK Lemoi blog:
The school was opened in the 1980s by the forest rangers through informal education. The school was taken over by JHEOA (Jabatan Hal Ehwal Orang Asli) and placed teachers from JHEOA to eradicate illiteracy. In 1998, Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia officially took over the school's administration and made SK Lemoi as one of Sekolah Bantuan Penuh Kerajaan.
