Kimchii Time!

After all those Japanese food that we ate, I'm sort of starting to develop a hankering for some kimchi. And what's our favourite with our kimchi. Meat! Red meat! The week before we had a fish weekend; I grilled some sanma fish and steamed siakap fish so it's nice to have meat the week after that.

So its' grilled beef Korean style for us last Sunday.
Tofu with stir-fried kimchi & enoki mushroom. No photo of the grilled beef because I accidentally deleted them. huhuhu and the dish was too oily; I put a bit too much sesame oil in the wok.
Lettuce for lettuce wrap with the grilled beef, kimchi stew, stir-fried kimchi with tofu with a bowl of Japanese rice. Well, I don't have any Korean rice in stock. Though I do have a tendency to add other grains in my rice when I cook Korean like barley, nuts and stuff. xD

I wonder what's we'll have this weekend? Nothing heavy even though it's Raya Haji on Sunday. xD

  3. @Shemah,
Korean food/places we like are a bit harder to find compared to Japanese, so belajar lah masak sendiri since we do love them. Makan maggi pun letak kimchii tau. keskeskes

Your Mom is here with you. That's nice. Have a great celebration with the family. Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha. ^^

  4. @eugene,
    Thanks for the wish.

Hahaha, maybe I should try other food already. xD

I like Korean food because of opposite reason. There are a lot of dishes that incorporate veges and we do eat a lot of raw veges when I serve Korean food at home. Bibimbap, for example. ;)

    Have a great weekend, Eugene.

  5. Selamat Hari Raya Haji, Lina! Another longer weekend. Woot!

Talk about Kimchi, I saw the brand that you were blogging about packed in tin-foil packages the other day. I thought those are cool, sort of like refills for the bottle. They come cheaper too vis-a-vis the bottled packaging. Saw them at Jusco's.

  7. @HappySurfer,
Oh yeah, they do have those oo, packed in those refill packaging. I buy them only if we don't plan to eat kimchii much that month. xD

The best value is of course buying the 5kg pack. In bulk! ;)

  12. @SK,
Everyone can cook. Can eat or not after cooking is another matter altogether. LOL

Yes, the cold tofu is a perfect accompaniment for the heat of the kimchi. Heavenly. ^^

What did we have after - we had pizza with the whole family tonight. kakaka

I couldn't agree more with you that "giving harsh comments under anonymity is cowardice."
