Made For Running
Well... duh, you said.
"A running shoes of course use for running lah!", you huffed. Well, I wear running shoes to go to the mall also, sometimes you know. Haha
I finally got my Brooks Pure Flow 3 shoes which I won in the "Blog with Brooks" contest out for a run on Thursday night and did a 50min tempo run in it. Didn't win the new Brooks Transcend but I was absolutely happy with this too.
The shoes has been voted as "Best Update" by Runner's World for Spring 2014.
Verdict? Just like the older Pure Flow that I had, it's more comfortable to wear this when running at a certain speed.
I've worn Pure Flow 3 to go "jalan-jalan" before and it wasn't a comfortable experience after a few hours. My heel screamed.
Doing a tempo run and speedwork in it feels good though. It's light yet it feels plush and cushioned. Yup, makes for a soft landing. Very soft.
So I gather, for me; heavier foot strike and heel striking doesn't agree with Pure Flow. Walking, no.
Light strike, yes. Running - definitely. Which is a good thing, right?
Basically, I'll need to stop heel-striking to run comfortably in this Pure Flow. And yes, apart from a bit of hot-spot on the right pinkie toe (happens to a number of shoes I wear anyway); Pure Flow 3 is a nice shoe to RUN in.

Well, that's just my observation...
Let's try putting it to its paces soon. A 10K race maybe? Been ages since I last entered a race this distance. ^^
p.s. My PB for 10K and HM were done in the older Pure Flow. Time to get a new PB with the new shoes? Shall I challenge myself? hohoho

I used to envy those who can wear cushioning shoes cause I am flat food and can only "survived" with those thick and heavy stability or motion control shoes. But after I changed my foot strike to mid/forefoot strike, I moved to the VFF, not injured my foot (never due to foot wear) and never looked back.
ReplyDeleteI guess the foot strike is significant/key factor for good, happy and enioyeable running.
Me too.
DeleteI can't wear too much cushioning though. My Asics Kayano 19 is now reduced to a "walking" shoes. I can't run in it.
OTOH, Adidas ClimaCool works like a charm for me. ^^
So far i have not wear running shoes to the mall, hehe...
ReplyDeleteYou are classier than me. :)
DeleteI don't own any casual sneakers anymore and walking around malls can take a few hours, might as well be comfy and wear a comfy shoes. LOL
I wear running shoe to mall and also to travel as well as it's comfort for our feet!!! =]
ReplyDeleteVery true :-)
DeleteI wear Brooks shoes to travel..very comfortable!
Delete*thumbs up * :)
Deleteerrr, running shoes?? i never classified my shoes by their functions, because one pair of shoes can be used for many, the same pair can be for running, can be for shopping, can be for walking - basically just that pair of shoes does it all!! of course i mean those sports shoes lah, not the leather shoes or sandals..
ReplyDeleteWell, my running shoes all have specific functions just like my heels, court shoes, sandals and slippers do. ;)
DeleteHahaha
mine are all multi-purpose, of course i made them.. :p
Deletelast time mine also all multi-purpose one ;)
Deletemine also multi-purpose leh....no wearing heels long time already. can run and kejar kucing faster :p
Deleteaiyoh that pair of Pure Flow also nice lah, half a loaf is better than none.. you didn't get the Transcend but you got a pair of shoes for FREE!! what's better than a pair of FREE shoes?? haha.. and see, aside from giving your pain on the heel, you look great with them on lah.. love that outfit, so blue and so young especially with your "innocent" hairstyle, and that killer pose.. fuyoh, Mak Glam is glam!!!
ReplyDeleteSK always have nice things to say without too much bodek. Lina likey! LOL
DeleteItu lah "SEMUT KITA" SK........ crawling crawling crawling to the madu jar.
DeleteThe colour of your shoes are so BEAUTIFUL with nice pattern designs. I would love to run in that. I believe that I could run faster than lions if my shoes make me happy!
ReplyDeleteAnay get one la. want Brooks vouchers? hihihi
DeleteI confused la which brand to buy for running?? Let me go and see Brooks display first ok.
DeleteAsk for the staff advice la. You go to their outlets, the staff can advice you.
DeleteBaik.....noted!
DeleteYou posed so gaya! You should lift one leg until kasut sampai 6 inches from the camera!! Baru stylo and lagi Glam!
ReplyDeleteItu posing so look thin mah! LOL
DeleteI agree that pose like XS size now!
DeleteMy best buddy is on holiday in Japan now and he watsap the Adidas shoes he bought very cheaply. Last trip, we all saw very cheap sports shoes in Osaka but thought they were fakes! Someone slapped our heads when we got back home - Japan never sell fake shoes lah! hihihihi....
ReplyDeleteI also want to slap Anay for thinking about bootleg Adidas (or bootleg anything) there! *phiak phiak* LOL
DeleteBut go Japan, buy ASICS la or Mizuno. Why go for Adidas one?
Tho we also buy cheap shoes at the Nike/Adidas premium outlet. Bargain!
Their Nike and Adidas range are so colourful & fun-like designs which are not available in KL. Maybe I am outdated somewhere. I better avoid these shops next week - dangerous for my wallets!
DeleteI will hunt for "flat looking" souvenirs and cheap toiletries. Dunno whether I should pump many bottles of Shiseido shampoo from the hotel?
Rather than you pump, buy a whole new bottle for me, better! LOL
DeleteCooll........
ReplyDeleteahem ahem....running shoe i wear for walking and go pasar also got wor..coz comfortable mah
Hahaha
DeleteBetul la :-)
